Welcome Back! We hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. We have much to be thankful for.
Congratulations to the 13 SHS Bandos selected for the D211 Honors Orchestra: Leilah Petit, Vincent Chang, Seira Walter, Daniel Burke, Akira Di Sandro, Abigail Fledderman, Brandon Jaimes, Tom Schluckbier, Keneni Godana, Elliott Ross, Nupur Thakkar, Kyler Perez, and Jason Wickland.
Jazzers: Ensemble: rehearsal Monday 7-9pm. Lab Band: rehearsal Monday 3-5pm. No combo rehearsals this week.
Pep Band: our season starts this Friday with a doubleheader (G/B) against Conant. Call time is 5pm. Theme is Fancy Friday. For this week only, we will be using BOTH binders and your SMB flip folders from this fall (make sure you have them here). Let's pack the stands!
Band Winter Concerts: Next week Monday, December 5th (CB/SB) and Tuesday, December 6th (Cadet/WS). Both concerts start at 7pm. Call time for Monday is 6pm to run Most Wonderful Time of the Year. Call time for Tuesday is 6:30pm. Tickets are $5 per night and will sold this week and at the door. We will take yearbook photos immediately after the concerts. The Band Boosters will be holding their 3rd annual Holiday Raffle at the concerts. We have some awesome prizes this year, including tickets for the Schaumburg Boomers, Chicago Wolves, Chicago White Sox, and HAMILTON!
Auditions: all need to be ready to audition on Monday, December 12. Private lesson sheets are due Friday, December 16.
Manna: monthly Manna orders are due next Friday, December 9th. Gift cards make great stocking stuffers!
Sectionals: None this week.
Trombone Quartet: rehearsal Friday at 3pm. They have a gig at Jarosch Bakery in Elk Grove Village at noon on Saturday. Check it out!
Concerts This Week: Mr. Tipps is playing at the Jazz Showcase Tuesday night @ 8pm and 10pm with the Bob Lark Alumni Big Band. This Friday, the Palatine Concert Band presents their Holiday Concert at 7pm at Cutting Hall. This Sunday at 3pm, the Harper Festival Chorus performs this annual Winter Concert. Reminder that all 1st Semester Concert Reviews are due Friday, December 16th.
Adopt-A-Family: As of Monday morning, we are at $731.97 (less than $500 to go). This is the final push - donation collections will finish up at the end this week. Give what you can to help out a family in need in our community!
