Tuba Christmas: we had a nice SHS representation at Chicago's Tuba Christmas event at the Palmer House Hotel. We hope everyone had a good time participating in this great tradition.

Jazzers: Ensemble rehearsal Monday 7-9.

Winter Break: is almost here! Obviously all instruments go home. Play a bit each day - I would highly recommend playing in the morning. Work on fundamentals. Play carols and music for fun. Review old tunes. We will hit the ground running when we get back from break.

IHSA Solo and Ensemble: is coming up on March 4, with registration due the second week we get back in January. Start looking for pieces. You are welcome to look in the library for music during finals. This is open to ALL band students.

Finals: the music department is open to music students only during finals. We feel free to use the department to practice or as a quiet study area.

Pep Band: Thanks to all who were able to make the game with the adjusted time! You all are awesome. Next game is Friday, January 20th.

Jazzers: Lab Band: Rehearsal Monday 3-4:45. No other jazz rehearsals this week. Ensemble sectionals should meet.

Auditions: Video submission are due today, Monday, December 12. Private lesson sheets are due Friday, December 16. Order of in class portion of auditions is on the board.

Concerts This Week: Elmhurst College Monday at 7:30pm at Hammerschmidt Chapel. SHS Orchestra Concert Tuesday at 7pm in the auditorium. Reminder that all 1st Semester Concert Reviews are due Friday, December 16th.

Band Winter Concerts: THIS WEEK Monday, December 5th (CB/SB) and Tuesday, December 6th (Cadet/WS). Both concerts start at 7pm. Call time for Monday is 6pm to run Most Wonderful Time of the Year. Call time for Tuesday is 6:30pm. Tickets are $5 per night and will be sold in class and at the door. We will take yearbook photos immediately after the concerts. The Band Boosters will be holding their 3rd annual Holiday Raffle at the concerts. We have some awesome prizes this year, including tickets for the Schaumburg Boomers, Chicago Wolves, Chicago White Sox, and HAMILTON!

Invite your friends and family to this week's concerts! All four bands have been working very hard and have an excellent program to present.

Adopt-A-Family: Congratulations, band! You surpassed your goal for this year's Adopt-A-Family. Final total: $1410.83. Thank you for your generosity! You will make an incredible difference in this family's lives this holiday season.

Pep Band: great start to the season last weekend! Our next game is this Saturday. Call time is 5:30pm. Holiday/Ugly Sweater. This is also our alumni night - tell your alum friends.
