SHS Concert Bands on Schoology

We will be using Schoology this year to post assignments, rehearsal recordings, and a variety of other items.

About the SHS Concert Bands

Schaumburg High School is proud to offer 4 curricular concert bands. All freshmen students are enrolled in the Cadet Band, which focuses on developing individual and ensemble fundamentals through appropriate literature for band. Sophomores, juniors, and seniors are placed by audition into one of three bands. The Concert Band performs at 3 concerts throughout the year and focuses on developing high school band literature. The Symphonic Band, in addition to this, performs annually at IHSA Organizational Contest or the Chicagoland Invitational Concert Band Festival, and studies more challenging works for band. The Wind Symphony, the highest band at SHS, studies advanced high school and college band literature. Students perform at several additional events throughout the year, either as a full ensemble or chamber groups. Select students from the Symphonic Band and Wind Symphony are also selected to perform with the SHS Philharmonic and Symphony Orchestras and audition for district/state honors ensembles.
